Smart power solution for De Lijn’s electric buses
At one of De Lijn’s depots, eight charging stations were already installed and ready to serve the new electric bus fleet — but the permanent power connection had not yet been commissioned. The buses, however, needed daily charging for a period of one to two weeks.
No fixed power meant no operational buses. And no operational buses meant no service schedule.
In partnership with CKS, De Lijn turned to Boldt for a temporary yet highly reliable solution that could deliver sufficient capacity and scale as needed. Throughout the full testing and charging period, all eight chargers remained fully operational. With integrated control and monitoring, we were able to fine-tune the system continuously — without any on-site intervention.
Thanks to this temporary setup, De Lijn kept its electric buses running exactly as planned, without disruption or risk.
